iPad Lightning to HDMI Connector, Doceri Whiteboard, and Webcam
I was planning to conduct a webinar with the help of a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, an LCD TV, and an iPad running the Doceri whiteboard app. Let me share with you how that turned out.
The plan was to run the WebinarJam app together with Google Hangouts on a MacBook Air connected to an internet broadband cable system via a Linksys wireless router.
But I didn't want to screenshare anything on the MBA, because we were worried that the extra load on the MBA would create lag issues during the webinar.
So the plan was to create something using Keynote on the iPad (or even the Doceri whiteboard app), and then connect the iPad to a 32-inch Sony Bravia LCD TV via a Lightning to HDMI connector.
However, when we tested it, the webcam either made the TV screen appear too bright, or if the TV screen was okay, the webinar speaker (who was slightly in front of the TV, and off to the side) would appear too dark.
The end result was: Simply show the screen of the iPad itself to the audience via the webcam.
This saved us from having to buy the P2,700 Lightning to HDMI connector (or Lightning Digital AV Adapter) in the Philippines.
