SkyBroadband 5Mbps Slow Down

I wonder what's been happening lately with the SkyBroadband cable internet service. The 5Mbps package hasn't been fast these past few days.

We did the ping test (at the DOS prompt, type ping 114.108.192.32 -t) and saw single-digit ms times.

Then we ran the SpeedTest.net test and chose the Metro Manila SkyBroadband server:

Ping time of 10ms
Download 4.93Mbps
Upload 0.97Mbps

Not bad. Those numbers are within the "up to" speeds of the 5Mbps package.

So why are sites like YouTube slower than usual?

Perhaps it's YT that's slow? Or is the internet gateway of SkyBroadband having issues?

Searches made using Google take up to a minute to appear. Facebook is pretty fast, though.

Here's another strange observation: It seems that the Consumable webpage of SkyBroadband hasn't been updated since Feb 21.

Perhaps that's one of making up for the slow broadband connection? I mean, why eat up your 15GB monthly allocation if the connection has been quite slow, right?

Anyway, we will wait for a response from SkyServes regarding the status of their internet gateway.
