GoDaddy Domain Name Renewal

Is there a fast and simple way for me to renew any domain name registered in GoDaddy?

There's this domain name that will be expiring soon, and we haven't heard yet from the person who first registered it.

So I got in touch with GoDaddy support to find out how to renew a domain name that I didn't own, and they asked me to visit a Submitting a Change of Account/Email Update Form.

The process is longer than simple, though.

Can't they make domain name renewal as simple as a couple of clicks?

In the case of Dot.PH, for example, there's a Quick Renew tab that allows anyone to extend the life of a domain name. No need to set-up an account, no fuss, no muss.

At any rate, we'll continue searching for a way to easily and quickly renew a GoDaddy domain name, just so that domain name does not expire.

I have a feeling, though, that this will be quite a challenge. Other domain registrars placed the responsibility of renewing domain names solely on the person who first registered that domain name.

What happens if the domain was initially registered for, say, 5 years, and then 5 years down the road the person who registered the domain name is no longer connected with the company? It will be better, then, to use an email address that your IT group can easily access in the future.
