Halloween Party Canceled?

You can still go trick or treating on October 31, but don't expect any afternoon party.

Yes, relatives and friends have been enjoying the Halloween party at the Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse each year, before trooping from house to house to enjoy getting treats such as candies (both local and imported), taho, or even dirty ice cream a-a.

This year, however, there will be no Halloween party in the clubhouse. This is in deference to the families affected by Typhoon Ondoy.

Even if there was no flooding in other areas of Metro Manila, we find that we are all connected. We might have relatives, friends, classmates, or even officemates who lost their possessions or even their homes. Or worse, who lost family members because of the floods.

So while we can still somehow gain a sense of normalcy and continue with the annual Halloween trick-or-treating, let us still keep in mind our brothers and sisters who have yet to recover from the effects of the recent typhoons (Ondoy and Pepeng).
