Linksys Hangs, Firmware Upgrade Needed

Does your Linksys WRT54G2 hang at the 99% level, along with an error message about WiFi Protected Setup?

Some people click on the WiFi protected setup button in your wireless router, then every time you try to visit the "Wireless" tab in your 192.168.1.1 configuration screen, you are shown a window that says:

"Searching for your client device. Please wait... If you haven't clicked on the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on your client device, please do so now."

Then it hangs forever at the 99% level.

Here's what I did to solve this: I visited the Linksys WRT54G2 Support and Download page, chose "Version1.0" from the dropdown menu (Select Your Version), then under the "Firmware" section on the left, I downloaded the 1.0.02 Firmware Upgrade .bin file.

Then I visited the Admin screen (via 192.168.1.1) and upgraded the firmware. It took about 5 minutes, but after that, I no longer saw the WiFi Protected Setup 99% hanging error. I also switched to Manual.

I hope that helps you with your Linksys Wireless Router! :-)
