Stores Open On New Year's DayLots of people have been wondering if stores will be open on New Year's Day. In the Philippines, since people will hear mass bright and early on January 1, you can be pretty sure the malls and supermarkets will be open. Same thing can be said for a number of restaurants. For although people will be sleepy from last night's revelries, or even puffy-eyed from staying up late to watch the fireworks, life still goes on this first day of the year. There are friends and relatives to visit, plus food to bring. Food deliveries will be a big hit, because families get together and pretty much stay at home. That doesn't mean, however, the some folks will shy away from the malls. Why go to the mall on New Year's Day? Well for starters, people want to watch the movies participating in the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival. I heard that it will run only until January 7, so see them now (while you still can). There's no guarantee all the movies will release a DVD version soon. So, will stores be open on January 1? Most definitely. Happy New Year to everyone! :-) Previous Entry Secondthoughts Index Next Entry Manuel@Viloria.net Copyright © 1996 - 2009 by Viloria.com All Rights Reserved.
