ABS CBN on Mobile Phone

You can watch the ABS CBN Christmas Special on your mobile phone.

For only P20/day and P15 for every 30 minutes, you'll be able to watch the Christmas Special in ABS CBN.

Looks like it's cheaper to surf the net (only P10/half-hour). Does this mean more people are interested in watching TV on their mobile phones that in surfing the web? Perhaps that's what the cp-toting Philippine crowd is like.

If you want to reach a lot of mobile people in Manila and the rest of the Philippines, it might be better to launch a television show that put up a mobile blog. Then again, it's also possible that Filipinos would rather use their phones for texting than for watching television.

I've seen a lot of my friends hunched over their mini-keypads, busily thumbing away text after SMS text. In the short term, it looks like mobile TV or even mobile novellas (cp-nobela?) are quaint offerings that are simply ahead of their time.

Let's see how things fare in the third quarter of 2008. By then, it could be whole different story.
