Wave Board

You can use the Wave Board for streetsurfing. It's like a two-piece skateboard that you propel forward by doing an S-shaped wave motion using your hips and thighs.

While others may call it a waveboard or a RipStik, some people call it "Shockwave."

Here's what a wave skateboard looks like:

The WAVE Street Surfboard
The WAVE Street Surfboard
The Wave inline action board (Street Surfer) is the board everyone is talking about. There is no other way to get such an amazing ride on the street. It combines the feeling of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding on 2 wheels. The Wave gives you the ability to do precision 360's, carve downhill and even ride uphill! Click on Product Tour located under product image to see The Wave in action.

We got a blue one recently at Toys 'R Us. The product is distributed by Multiline Import and Export Co., Inc. and they hold office in Unit 2903-D, 29th Floor West Tower, Philippine Stock Exchange Building, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines 1605.

Their telephone numbers are +63.2 637-1104 / 637-5735.

I heard some kids ask about competitions for this split skateboard, but the people selling the product asked them to get more people interested first. Otherwise, they'll only have a few contestants. I don't know how long it will take to organize a large enough group, because I haven't seen anyone go street surfing using a "Shockwave" or wave board.

I'll post some photos of this soon, along with a few video clips (if we dare share with you our wave board wipeouts). :-)

How To Ride A Wave Board

You'll need to plant your lead foot on one of the half-boards, then make sure the board is level instead of tilted towards the ground. Your toes will be pointing forward, and your feet will be perpendicular to the board. In other words, you will be moving sideways, as if you were riding a surfboard.

You'll then push off with your backfoot (to gain some momentum), then you'll put that backfoot on top of the other half-board.

It's easier with photos or a video. Stay tuned for those wave board clips....
