Twitter Goes Super Mobile

Twitter is a short message blogging service that allows you to easily update a page using either your computer or your cell phone. Since sms text charges can be quite hefty for Pinoys, some have resorted to just using the web-based method.

But now, Twitter has gone super mobile! You can now visit http://m.twitter.com using your cell phone, and it will be as if you're surfing to Twitter using your computer.

In other words, you can say goodbye to those expensive sms text rates.

In the case of PLDT SMART subscribers, for example, you'll just pay P10 for your 30-minute internet connection. So if you're Twittering a lot and you make five updates during that half hour, that's just P10, and not P75 (P15 x 5 sms text messages).

And that's what makes Twitter even more mobile: more people can update their page even when they're far from their computer.

Will this make moblogging (mobile blogging) take off in the Philippines? That remains to be seen...
