Tony Joaquin: Filipino Blogger

Anthony Joaquin is a Filipino writer and blogger.

And if you check out his blog at http://myjoaquinfamily.blogspot.com, you'll discover that it's easy to start blogging. All you mainly need is to actually enjoy writing.

You can also sample Tony's articles in PhilippineNews.com: A Damaged Culture, and The balikbayan Box. And in case you're wondering if there's something writerly in his genes, well...

Tony Joaquin is a nephew of the late Nick Joaquin. In fact, in Ben Pimentel's Pinoy Pod 38: The Legacy of Nick Joaquin, you'll hear Tony speak about his uncle. That's one great way to preserve part of our country's heritage and culture.

(Suggestion for Philippine Literature students: Find relatives of your favorite Filipino writers and interview them. If they grant you permission, upload the interview to YouTube.)

I'm looking forward to Tony's online publishing journey. May he share more stories about life in the Philippines from the 1930s all the way to the 1960s, and may he enrich our lives through the power of text, audio, and video.
