Tribe.net and Social Marketing

Recently created a profile at Tribe.net to see what all the fuss is about.

After claiming a page at http://people.tribe.net/manuel, I saw what made it easy for people to create their Tribe pages.

While other services allow you to quickly publish a blog post, here are other things you can write in Tribe:

# Events live music, nightlife, parties...
# Local Favorites recommend a restaurant, band, hangout... (request a recommendation)
# Service Recommendation recommend a dentist, plumber... (request a recommendation)
# Miscellaneous Recommendation review a website, product... (request a recommendation)
# Community volunteer opportunities, artists, sound off...
# For Sale cars, furniture, garage sales...
# Housing apartments, housing wanted, roommates...
# Job

In a sense, Tribe.net feels like a combination of Friendster, LinkedIn, and even Craigslist. I wonder how long before the internet marketers start building their Tribe.net pages.
