Changes in Snap Preview

Remember "Snap Preview Anywhere" which allows people to quickly preview what a site looks like by simply putting your mouse over a link? The recent love-hate relationship with this online tool has brought forth a number of changes.

While having a preview can be quite useful, some visitors have asked site owners that it be switched off because accidental mouseovers produce distracting preview pop-up windows.

So here are the recent changes for the Snap Preview Anywhere tool:

1. Visitors can choose to switch the tool on.

2. Publishers can display their logo inside the Snap Preview Anywhere window.

3. Snap Preview bubble icons will help cut down on the accidental previews. You can set it so that the preview only appears when people mouseover the tinier bubble icon.

4. The Snap Preview Badge gives your visitors a chance to opt-in first before they are able to see the Snap Preview process in action.

This is a great tool particularly if you're writing web site reviews. You visitors can simply mouseover the link of the site you're reviewing, and a preview appears. Yes, even if you visitor has not left your review site.

I wonder, though, if Snap.com will use this to figure out which previews get the most number of clicks.
