Speak Tagalog Video

I've just uploaded a quick "Learn To Speak Tagalog" video in YouTube.

The Tagalog words featured in the under-two-minutes videocast are "Nagkagulo" (when things go awry or when there's a disturbance/fight) and "Nagkagalit" (when people get angry with each other). I even used those two words in a song.

The inspiration came after lunch, when some relatives brought The Ultimate Tony Bennett CD, and my dad joked around with the lyrics of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (see Track 6).

I got surprised that my in-laws, who are more than a decade older than my dad, were also aware of the joke. Looks like music does bridge the generation gap.

So, if you have Filipino parents or relatives who enjoyed Big Band music, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett during their teens and early twenties, please ask them if they know about the joke. :-)
