N70 and Smart 3G Overbilling?

Have you experienced overbilling when using PLDT's Smart 3G and a Nokia N70?

For some reason, a Nokia N70 was billed by Smart 3G P10 every hour for about 30 days. It's as if the cell phone connected to the internet at more or less every 60 minutes.

Is it possible to be billed even if no web site appears on the N70's screen? As in, the only thing visible is the main menu, because the phone is used mainly for calls and sms texting. While there were less than 10 attempts to surf the web via Smart3G, that surely is a far cry from "connecting every hour for 30 days."

Is there a bot or 3G cell phone virus that stealthily connects your phone to the web periodically without your permission or knowledge?

Or could this be a bug?

Please contact me if you have experienced this or if you know how to ensure that hourly connection doesn't happen again in the future.

Anyway, I'm waiting for PLDT's SMART Reps to provide feedback on this bizarre 3G case.

UPDATE: Here's the culprit -- By default, the Yahoo! Go application checks your Yahoo! Mail every hour for new emails. No wonder the Nokia N70 was charged P10 by PLDT Smart... every hour. I wish the default setting was "one check a day".
