Video: Asking for the Bill in a Philippine Restaurant

Want a slice of Philippine culture? Here's how to ask for the bill in a Philippine restaurant.

You can ask a waiter to come over and tell him:

"May I have the bill, please?" or
"May I have the chit, please?"

If the waiter is quite far off and the restaurant is too noisy, you can also make use of hand signals.

Form a small rectangle (using the fingers of both hands, or just the thumb and forefinger of one hand) when asking for the bill. If you would like to request for the menu (perhaps so that you can order dessert), form a large rectangle with your fingers.

Happy eating and paying!
