Multimedia Presentation FreewareEducators can use free multimedia presentation software in their digital storytelling efforts. In Telling Your Multimedia Story Using Free Software Tools, Phil Shapiro talks about PowerBullet.com, which is a free program that creates multipage or slideshow presentations in the Flash format. If you were to create a Powerpoint presentation, your audience must have Powerpoint or a special viewer in order to watch your slides. On the other hand, your audience will simply need a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox to view Flash presentations. This means you can place your story online in Flash format, go to a place which has an internet connection, and then browse the web page which contains your presentation. Since the Flash files are relatively small, even people on slower dial-up connections can still view your slideshow. Combine the Powerbullet Presenter software with Audacity (a free sound recording and editing software), and you can tell a story online. Previous Entry Secondthoughts Index Next Entry
