Podcasting and Cell Phones

Podcasts can now be sent to mobile phones.

Talk about innovation: Pod2Mob.com offers mobile podcasting. This means that people can listen to any podcast on their cell phone. For free.

If you're a podcaster who wants a larger audience, why not make yourself known to the non-computer using or non-mp3 player toting crowd? Given the cost of these mobile devices, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to consider that there are more cell phone owners than iPod or mp3 player enthusiasts, right?

Before you can add your podcast's RSS feed to Pod2Mob, you'll need to sign-up first. But that effort is a small price to pay for the chance to promote your podcast to the cell phone world.

Now if there were a way to promote a particular segment of your podcast so that you can easily determine whether people are subscribing via an mp3 player or through a cell phone. Or does Feedburner already do that? Or do we need to make the cell phone market aware of mobile podcasting first?
