Looks like modern-day bishops are now using the web to dispute certain points made in Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. The Catholic Communication Campaign presents Jesus Decoded (link via Yahoo News), an attractive, flash-enhanced web site that "is designed to provide information for anyone who wishes to inquire about Jesus Christ and Christian origins due to claims that appear in current popular media." Moving images, stately musical score, easy-to-use navigation and compelling text will help online Catholics find answers to questions such as: "Was Jesus really married to Mary Magdalene? Did the Catholic Church suppress various secret Gospels that 'tell the real truth' about Jesus and the early Church? Did Deception and politics determine which books were included and excluded from the Bible?" That's one great thing about the web. Someone writes something about you or your organization which you don't exactly relish, and you can publish and share with the world your side of the issue.
