Word Tutorial: Different Starting Page Number

If you've wondered why your MS Word document begins with page three rather than page one, here's the answer.

My groupmate was at his wit's end. The report (in MS Word format) showed "Page 3" as the first page. He does not remember how that happened. All he recalls is a blur of typed keys.

To change the first page of your Word .doc file back to Page 1 or any other page for that matter, simply click on:

Insert - Page Numbers
Click on the "Format" button
Under "Page Numbering", click on the button beside "Start at"
Typel in the box to the right the number "1" (without the quotes)
Click on the "OK" button.

And that's it! Your MS Word document now correctly begins with page one.
