New Tagalog Podcast

If you're looking for a Tagalog podcast, complete with local accent of Morong, check out Radyo San Guilmo.

Radyo San Guilmo: Kuwentuhan ng Magkaka-Baryo is a podcast that shares stories and news about the people in Barrio San Guillermo, Morong Town, Rizal Province, Philippines.

Podcasting from the USA and the Philippines, the contrasting duo of the soft-spoken Joel and the lively Noel (aka "matabuak") bring you memories of their wonder years in the San Guillermo Elementary School, as well as recent developments in their hometown.

If you can speak Tagalog, you will continue to learn new Tagalog terms. As in, malalim. For example, nagkikinamuya, kaiswila, humuhuma. You'll also hear traces of the Laguna accent, because Morong, Rizal is near Laguna.

For the curious, here's the Morong Dictionary. (Thanks for the info, Noel!)

You'll also sometimes hear the "party line" because they're using a phone line to create the podcast. Hilarious! Plus, you'll even get to sample rap music written and performed by people from the province of Rizal.

That's just a few of the many things that make this Tagalog podcast very Pinoy. Aba'y give them a listen today, ah!

(Warning: You might suddenly miss the Philippines after listening to the Radyo San Guilmo Tagalog podcast.)

Where is San Guillermo, Morong, Rizal?

Use the Heavens-Above.com latitude/longitude search page for the Philippines. Then type san guillermo in the search box. I found two entries for San Guillermo in Rizal:

San Guillermo Rizal 14.500 121.217 95 m
San Guillermo Rizal 14.467 121.200 15 m

I then went to Google Maps and plugged in 14.500, 121.217 as well as 14.467, 121.200 to quickly find San Guillermo in the Philippine map. I wonder when Google Maps will have more detailed images for the Philippines, such as this satellite image of Bulacan.
