Globe DSL Promo

The internet broadband market battle is heating up as Globe offers 384 Kbps for only P995 a month.

I don't know how long the promo will last, given that Globelines' broadband prices page still shows the Express Unlimited package at P1,495 per month.

So, with a promo price of P995/month, what's the catch?

There's a lock-in period of 24 12 (as corrected by Mr. Rene Loching) months. For the first 12 months you'll pay P995/month. After the first 12 months, you'll pay P1,495 monthly. If you preterminate at any time, the pretermination fee is P2,990 (P1495 x 2).

If you're a GenTxter, however, the P995/month rate applies even beyond the first 12 months.

The 384 Kbps is the "guaranteed" download speed. Upload speed is 128 Kbps. And no, you don't need to have a Globelines phone line.

To find out if the service is available in your area, please visit the nearest Globelines Business Center. Why not simply give them a phone call? Unfortunately, Globelines' Customer Assistance does not give out the telephone number, because the business centers will only entertain walk-in visitors.

So, if your billing address is in a non-serviceable area, but your actual location is at the boundary of a Globelines serviceable area, you'll need to visit a Globelines Business Center to find out if you may apply or not. Imagine that.

(I first got the info from Ms. Roanne Maximo at telephone number 919-8888.)
