Gmail Invites On The Rise

Looks like Gmail is increasing the number of invitations we can send to friends.

I've been using Gmail for a few weeks now, and I noticed that instead of having 5 invites to give away, I now have 50.

I sent a couple of invites to my friends and acquaintances, so that they can try the web-based emailing experience of Gmail (beta). They probably got curious about my raves regarding the way Gmail presents email replies or conversations. Currently, I may give out 47 invites.

I also like the way Gmail shows me how old each incoming email is (i.e., this was sent 13 hours ago).

Anyway, I logged into http://gmail.google.com and got another surprise -- I'm now allowed to give away... 50 invites! I wonder how up to how many Gmail invites I will be allowed to share.

The last time I looked, the Gmailomatic page has 269,401 invites to give away. Perhaps that will drive down the price of Gmail invites at auction sites... ;-)

To my friends and relatives, I still have 50 waiting for you... (Thank you Boyet for the first invite!)
