Heartbreaking Kawasaki Disease

We're still alive but haven't been blogging, because most of our time is spent in the hospital watching over Ali who is down with the Kawasaki Disease.

No one knows where this comes from, or why little children get afflicted with it. All I know is that the overcast skies over Quezon City and the intermittent rains are not helping me that much. Things feel so cold and gray, and I'm missing my vitriolic little girl.

Last Sunday was Happy Fathers' Day. I heard mass. Alone.

I avoided the eyes of the other people there, not because of my stinky stuck in the hospital armpits, but because I did not want to see the eyes of the other fathers there. I did not quite feel like sharing in their joy.

No, the Kawasaki Disease is not viral, and neither is it bacterial. It is heartbreaking.

Thank you to all my friends, relatives, officemates, loved ones, classmates, neighbors, and nameless strangers for your continued prayers, love and support. Your faith keeps us strong, and I'm sure things will turn out well in the end.

To those who've sent email, I'll reply when I really get back online. Thank you for understanding.
