Sofia Coppola Sings the Lupang Hinirang

In 1977, when Sofia Coppola was 5 years old, her dad recorded an interview with her. He asked Sofia what she would like to tell her future adult self.

Aside from saying that she wanted to be middle-sized (not too fat nor too skinny), Sofia even sang the Lupang Hinirang (Philippine national anthem), and also counted from 1 to 10 in fookien. She probably learned all that while Francis Ford Coppola was in the Philippine filming Apocalypse Now.

I had more fun listening to the recording than watching Lost in Translation. ;-)

The song comes after the 2-minute mark. It will work if you have Real Player or Windows Media Player installed. Dindin, can you hear the recording on your Mac?

(Thanks, Cynthia!)
