Sim Card Copier: MySimCopier

If you could easily clone your sim card, would you?

Back up your SIM card! (by Leo Magno) -- "Recently I got an inexpensive (less than 500 pesos) gizmo in Singapore from Gemplus, the French company which provides smart cards you find in credit cards and mobile SIM cards. It’s called MySIMcopier."

A study by Gemplus, makers of MySimCopier, shows that with such a device, 84 percent of respondents would be willing to transfer from one operator to another.

Imagine, you don't have to painfully re-create your sim card address book entries.

Leo Magno suggests that Globe, Smart and Sun Cellular offer MySimCopier to new subscribers in order to make the "switch" easier.

Sounds good. Until, of course, your cellphone keeps beeping with: "This is my new number..."
