How Fathers Pass On Breast Cancer To Their DaughtersI used to think that it was the mothers who passed on the potential for breast cancer to their daughters. New information shows that some fathers can also do this. Breast cancer: the hidden killer carried by fathers -- "Up to half of all women with the highest genetic risk of breast cancer are unaware of their status, as there is no history of the disease in their immediate families. Many women with rogue genes that carry an 80 per cent lifetime chance of breast cancer have no idea that they are at risk, as the mutations responsible were passed on by their fathers."
