Galunggong NoodlesHeard over DZBB that the P60/kilo galunggong refers to the female, flattish variety. The male galunggong, which is longer and more cylindrical, fetches P80 to P90 per kilo. Also, one fish vendor said that the P60/kilo variety is quite tiny, that one kilo comes out to around 15 pieces of fish. That's why some folks buy 1/4 kilo (P15) to feed their family breakfast. But it seems that people are shifting away from galunggong and are instead just having noodles in the morning. Perhaps in the next SoNA, we'll hear about how the price of pouch noodles has gone down.
