Typhoon Gloria
Typhoon Gloria is now leaving the country, but rain keeps pouring non-stop. Gloria is also known as Chataan (cha-ta-an), which is the Chamorro word for "rain."
I wonder why we decided to include "Gloria" in the list of typhoon names here in the Philippines. And oh, there's another typhoon in the area, this time called "Hambalos" which is the Pilipino word for "to hit." How elegant. ;-)
By the way, you can learn more about the typhoons whipping our country and get updates via email at Typhoon2000.ph.
