Email and Lawyers

Do you ever use email to distribute minutes of meetings? Watch out -- what may seem perfect for days can blow up in your face, especially if someone in your distribution list is a lawyer.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

That's the problem with email -- people read it and form different perceptions. The early stage is oh-so-nice and oh-so-charming because people think they've been understood. Then as the days go by and different email messages fly back and forth, it soon becomes painfully evident that there was a miscommunication somewhere.

You weren't privy to that info?

Nope.

So why'd you minute it?

Because you mentioned it during the meeting. I simply wrote down what you said.

Then I shouldn't have talked to you????

Uhm. Please save your time. Talk straight to the source of the info.

You have NO idea what you're talking...

(Cutting) Please save your time. Talk straight to the source...

OK! Bye. (click)

Sigh. I've learned my lesson: Discuss the minutes in person and not via email.

(Or keep the lawyers out!) he he he...
